End to End Project
Driven by a passion for urgent mental health care, I embarked on an exceptional journey in November 2020 to establish a lifeline for crises. Leading an innovative project that surpassed conventions, I connected individuals with immediate aid through groundbreaking on-demand telemedicine. This platform granted patients access to dedicated psychiatrists 24/7, uniting technology and compassion. As the visionary behind this transformative initiative, I merged innovation and empathy, creating a vital resource to redefine mental health support.
As a UX Lead Designer and Strategist, I had the honor of leading the comprehensive development of aryanow.com. This project spanned from November 2020 to June 2023 and involved me deeply in conceiving, designing, and orchestrating the website's user experience and branding. Serving as the project's driving force, my objective was to seamlessly blend aesthetics with functionality, addressing the needs of urgent mental health patients and psychiatrists while fortifying AryaNow's online presence. This portfolio entry delves into my journey of sculpting a visually captivating website and a user-centric digital encounter that aligns perfectly with the project's goals.
AryaNow?
In the wake of the pandemic, a pressing challenge emerged: the timely availability of mental health support. The project took root from a dire need for instant access to psychiatric assistance during critical moments. Three dedicated psychiatrists approached me with a compelling vision: to build a platform to bridge the gap between patients and mental health professionals by offering round-the-clock consultations. The primary pain point lay in the scarcity of readily available mental health services when they were most needed. The pandemic amplified the urgency of this issue, underscoring the necessity for a swift and convenient solution. Patients grappling with urgent mental health concerns faced delays in obtaining assistance, jeopardizing their well-being. To address this gap, the project aimed to create a digital haven where individuals could access mental health care promptly and efficiently, providing immediate relief to those in crisis. The platform's branding, user experience, and design needed to be meticulously tailored to foster a sense of comfort, security, and trust, catering to patients and the psychiatrists who would be using the platform to provide critical support.
In pursuit of an intuitive platform tailored to patients' needs, our approach was grounded in rigorous research methodologies. The journey to understanding our target audience, market dynamics, and the competitive landscape was paved with meticulous efforts. We delved into user interviews, surveys, and usability testing, illuminating the path forward. Real-world interactions with mental health patients lay at the core of our research. Through extensive user interviews and immersive usability testing, we gained profound insights into their experiences, specifically during moments of crisis and their navigation to emergency rooms. This enabled us to comprehend their thought processes, pain points, and expectations, forming the cornerstone of our user-centric approach. Additionally, we explored market trends and dissected the strategies of competitors. By analyzing the landscape, we identified gaps and opportunities, enabling us to craft a distinctive platform that resonated with patients and stood out within the market. Ultimately, the convergence of interviews, testing, and analyses served as our compass, guiding the project's direction and ensuring that AryaNow would be a beacon of support and ease for those seeking urgent mental health care.
After gathering valuable insights from user research, the subsequent critical phase involved in-depth analysis and the presentation of findings during design workshops. These workshops served as a vital platform for aligning the perspectives of Business, Market, and Users. Our primary objective was to commence the creation of AryaNow's Value Proposition and outline the features that would constitute our MVP (Minimum Viable Product). These collaborative workshops were meticulously structured, comprising various exercises I facilitated with a cross-functional team and stakeholders. The ultimate aim was to foster alignment among participants and lay the groundwork for the following stages of the design process.
My design journey embarked with a meticulous approach, spanning from the initial wireframes to the creation of high-fidelity mockups. The bedrock of this process was an iterative methodology that consistently embraced feedback loops from stakeholders and users, culminating in a refined and resonating design. Starting with wireframes, I sketched out the skeletal framework of the platform, mapping the user flow and interactions with precision. This foundational step allowed for visualizing the user's journey, which is essential for creating an intuitive experience. Gradually, these wireframes evolved into high-fidelity mockups, breathing life into the conceptualized structure. Each element, from typography and color palettes to micro-interactions, was meticulously considered to ensure cohesion with the brand's identity and a seamless user experience. The design process thrived on iteration. The design became a collaborative masterpiece by incorporating feedback from stakeholders, who provided valuable insights into business goals and alignment, and users, who shared their real-world interactions. This iterative approach led to refinements that addressed pain points and celebrated moments of delight for patients and psychiatrists. The design process was a harmonious symphony of creativity and practicality, guided by empathy and informed by real-world insights. The result was a design that translated the vision of AryaNow into an interface that resonated effortlessly with its users, delivering both aesthetic appeal and functional excellence.
I played a pivotal role in a crucial phase of this product's development, where I crafted low-fidelity wireframes through a comprehensive analysis of three core pillars: Business, Users, and Market.
My involvement in these mockups focused on ensuring that all structural elements and features were captured. I also took on the role of reviewing and suggesting designs in alignment with branding guidelines and contemporary design trends.
